Portal Pets, the first self-titled and self-released album from the Copenhagen-based group Portal Pets in March. We celebrate the release on the 21st of March in Christianshavnsbeboerhus together. The album consists of nine riveting songs, ranging from statements of compelling connectivity to heartfelt soliloquy, from vast scapes as seen from the perspective of a flying dragon, to the nearness, the introspection and the raw realism of the everyday. Wordless vocal hooks are placed as central figures, rather than as mere ornaments. Auditory residue and bleed from early versions of songs kept in the finals. Enchanting, mischievous and invigorating vocal lines bend as refracted light, reverberates over brisk and rosy-cheeked riffs and beats. Spirited, as a pleasant spook.
