Mika Akim releases her third album "Feb 28" and celebrates the music by playing live for the first time in a new trio constellation together with Tove Bagge and Tomás Gubbins. Egil Kalman, who in November released his debut album "Nordafjells", Norwegian and Swedish folk music on modular synth, shares the evening and plays a solo set.
Mika Akim; viola player and songwriter Mika Persdotter moves within both contemporary composition music, the experimental scene, baroque music and songwriting. Under the palindrome Mika Akim, she has created a universe where the viola d'amore - a string instrument primarily associated with Baroque music - goes hand in hand with her vocals in minimalist songs with a great love for the instrument, the body, the voice, beautiful and strange sounds. The texts are in Swedish and English. The music is circular, poetic with a piercing folk-pop sound and has been compared to songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Sam Amidon and José Gonzalez.
Mika Akim has previously released two albums; Till Kroppen (2020), Tillsammans (2022) and played concerts in Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, USA and Chile.

Egil Kalman; plays Norwegian and Swedish folk music on modular synth. His music draws parallels between folk music and contemporary electroacoustic music via minimalistic composition techniques and soulful improvisations. With clean-tuned intervals, hypnotic forms, synthetic sound that imitates the acoustic and vice versa, he explores elements from folk music and sets them in a new light. The music is performed live on a modular synth without the use of pre-recorded material.
His debut album as a folk music synthesist 'Nordafjells', where the focus is on songs from the strong Setesdal tradition, was released on Supertraditional (Sara Parkman, Valkyrien Allstars etc.) in November 2025. He previously had two albums out on iDeal Recordings.
