Scorpio Red is an independent record label based in London and Los Angeles, founded in 2021. The label focuses heavily on experimental club music, deconstructed club, and ambient genres through digital/physical releases, club nights, and radio broadcasts. In 2025 Scorpio Red released Xenia Xamanek's album ‘Germinate [Imprint] Wilt [Stay]’ and this special evening the founders of the label, Kelman Duran and Ans M will perform their own music, here in Copenhagen together with local artist Xenia Xamanek and DJ IMSOBABY based in Geneva.
Xenia Xamanek is a Danish/Honduran artist based in Copenhagen. Their work spans experimental production, live performance, and DJ sets that merge the raw physicality of elements from genres such as reggaeton and cumbia with mind-expanding abstract soundscapes, abrasive attacks of noise, and moments of haunting beauty. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Xamanek builds ever expanding sonic worlds that are emotionally charged and unapologetically hybrid — resisting easy categorization and inviting the listener into states of altered perception. Xamanek’s practice is deeply informed by themes of ambiguity, disruption and the paranormal. Their compositions often unfold through nonlinear narratives that intertwine memory and mythology, intimacy and imagination, fiction and documentation. Through this lens, they explore hybrid identities, entangled temporalities, and emotional excess — using sound as a site of transformation, rupture, and re-enchantment. For their live performance they bring musician Sila XD with timbales, sampler and more.
Kelman Duran is a Dominican producer, composer and visual artist known for his expansive soundscapes and dembow and reggaeton infusions. Emerging as fixture of LA's underground RAIL UP crew, he now co-runs both Scorpio Red and an LA based ambient, experimental and avant-garde series focused on BIPOC artists called Deluge. While he sees his music as a purely emotional counterpart to his visual arts and film work, his artistic and scholarly interests focus on issues of racism, police brutality, and the interplay between disenfranchised groups and civil architecture.
Ans M is an artist based in London, whose textural focused compositions drift between environmental field recordings, guitar and distorted electronics. She co-runs the label Scorpio Red, through which she has curated live shows at venues such as Cafe OTO, Horse Hospital and the ICA. Her second album 'Likewing Drift' is out on 6th November 2026.
IMSOBABY (they/them) is a queer black multidisciplinary artist, curator and DJ. Born and raised in France and of congolese descent. Their interest in music alike as their artistic practice is based in the celebration of their identity and environment. Their ambitions are to create more space for their community to be safe, to celebrated and to just exist. Imsobaby’s sonic journey is both a celebration and a tribute to identity and community. Their sets fuse Afro-diasporic rhythms—Batida, Gqom, Soukous, Coupé Decalé, House, Vogue beats, Techno, Hip Hop, Jersey, and more, with experimental club textures, crafting immersive soundscapes that invite movement, release, and remembrance. Through their practice, they transform nightlife into a space of resistance, radical care, and collective surrender to rhythm.
